From 30 May to 2 June 2023, the EPXV Rugby Team organised a photo exhibition at the European Parliament: "United in diversity, United in rugby". As the first ever Rugby team participating under the EU flag in any international sport event, the European Parliament Rugby Team wished to exhibit pictures of the sport, representing the values of the team and the EU in general: values of respect to one another, tolerance, inclusion, solidarity and diversity. With the generous help from organisations such as Rugby Europe and Embassies of other participating countries, the exhibition showed pictures of women, men and children’s rugby from our continent and beyond.
The exhibition was supported by the team’s co-president organized Anne-Sophie Pelletier and Eric Andrieu, and supported by MEPs Pascal Durand, Radan Kanev, Irène Tolleret and Benoit Bitteau.
On 30 May during the vernissage, Vice President Marc Angel made an introductory speech on sport values and the importance of inclusivity and non-discrimination. Ambassadors from Australia, France and New Zealand were also present.
