For their final game of the season, the EPXV players were welcomed onto familiar ground: the Boisfort RFC pitch, where they are privileged to train throughout the year.
The host team featured a well-balanced mix of seasoned veterans, complemented by a sprinkling of younger players on the wings. Notably, the Boisfort coaches generously lent several of their players — including a full-back, a centre/wing, and a hooker — to help cover late withdrawals and injuries in the EPXV squad.
Despite pre-match expectations favouring the home side, the EPXV team delivered a brave and spirited performance against a highly experienced and well-coached Boisfort side. Facing a team accustomed to playing and training together all season, EPXV dug deep and, impressively, did not concede a single try.

Though Boisfort created multiple attacking opportunities, their backline was unable to break through EPXV’s rock-solid defence. The defensive resilience of the team deserves high praise, with special mention to Aurélie (front row) and Lise (second row), who were voted Players of the Match for their exceptional offensive and defensive efforts.
Thanks to this tenacious display and outstanding team communication, the young EPXV squad held on to secure a well-earned draw after two 20-minute halves of full-contact play.
At halftime, a change in rules allowed for player rotation and gave those preferring non-contact rugby the chance to participate. This inclusive format allowed everyone in the squad to find their place in the “rugby family.” Although EPXV continued to show strong commitment, Boisfort’s speed and adaptability — especially in the high temperatures — eventually gave them the edge in the modified game.
The day concluded in true rugby spirit with the traditional third half: a warm gathering of players, families, and supporters from both teams at Boisfort’s impressive clubhouse. An expertly organised barbecue, prepared by Hicham, the EPXV’s resident team chef, brought the curtain down on a fantastic afternoon and evening.

A massive thank you to Boisfort RFC for their generous hospitality, to all the players who took the field, to the supporters who made the trip, and to Ollivier our incredible coach for the day.
EPXV Team will be back training in September - bigger and stronger. New players, with or without experience are more than welcome to join the EPXV family for the 25/26 Rugby Season.
